Speak Life: A Call to Honor the Sanctity of Human Life

This Sunday, January 18, 2026, we pause to reflect on the Sanctity of Human Life. The first call to observe this day came on January 13, 1984, when President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation urging us to recognize the dignity and worth of every human life. His words came 11 years after Roe v. Wade legalized abortion; a decision that, by then, had ended 15 million lives.

Today, we live in a post-Roe America. On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, returning the authority to regulate abortion to each state. While abortion is now illegal in Mississippi, the challenge remains: How will we show up for women who find themselves unexpectedly pregnant and believe, in that moment, their life is over? The abortion pill can be ordered online and delivered to someone’s door within three days. Pregnancy clinics are facing some of their hardest days as we strive to reach her first—with hope, truth, and love.

This day is not only about reminding us to be a voice for the unborn child, it is about standing for the mother, the father, and the family involved. When we reach her, we reach the baby. When we reach her, we change generations.

At Choices Clinic, we exist to walk alongside women and families facing pregnancy decisions. We offer free, confidential medical care to help her find clarity in her choices, hope in her circumstances, and courage to take brave steps toward life, for her baby and for herself—in Christ.

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.”— Proverbs 31:9 (NLT)
